First of all....don't flip out! Yes, I've thought about blogging again. It seems I may have a little more spare time as graduate school is coming to an end.

Here was the 2nd day of our 2 day trip to Houston. Braxton finished a great round of golf and he has 4 dedicated followers. Two of which find other fun things to do on the golf course.

We have so much to be thankful for and I am reminded each day of the hugest blessing and the job that we've been given to be parents. I pray daily that God gives Mike and I the knowledge and the right words to say to kids. Watching them grow and seeing them be molded into the individuals that they are is truly amazing. Each day I'm thankful for Cason, Braxton & Mikalie!

This is one kid that is passionate about everything and I'm so thankful for Cason! Whatever he does he gives it all his heart. I look at him sometimes and I wish that I had his passion. Cason is truly a blessing and we are so thankful for him. He is one little boy that I see standing up for what he believes in......he will be the leader and not the follower.

I'm so thankful for Braxton! He is such a good big brother and he has the sweetest heart!

I was told not long ago by a parent with a special needs child that she is so impressed with Braxton. She said, "Braxton goes out of his way to say hi to my son and treats him as his friend. There aren't a lot of kids at his age that know what to say." Braxton truly has a servant heart!

What can I say about this little angel! There is something so special between a mother and daughter I'm so thankful for Mikalie. She is the happiest child I have ever seen!!! She loves life....sometimes when things don't seem so perfect, you can look at Mikalie and the joy is reflected from her to you....it's amazing!!! She is the princess in our family. She's the Fancy Nancy, but she is also loves to wrestle and play with her brothers.

Cason's birthday could not have been more perfect for a little boy. He had his cousins and several friends at The Plex, which is a huge indoor sports complex. I think that Cason may have found his best sport ever inside the boxing ring. The kids had so much fun!

This last week was an exciting week for our family. Mikalie started a 3 day a week Pre-K, Cason started kindergarden, Braxton started 3rd grade and mom has started her Masters through an on-line program with Abilene Christian University. So, this has been an exciting week for our entire family. School is fun! :)

This summer was a lot of fun, we didn't go on any major trips. We did a few day or overnight trips that revolved around either Braxton's golf or track meet, but the kids don't care where they are they just have fun. They are still talking about a "MOTEL" (and it wasn't super nice) that we stayed in and Mikalie thought it was the best place ever because she got to stay in the pool so much. The joys of being a child. Outside of our little trips we spent almost every extra minute either at the beach or at the pool. The summer was great and I love every minute we spent with our kids.

Now, we begin football...... Cason is in flag. Well he is suppose to be in flag, but he tackles any chace he gets. Oh my, he is a ball of energy. Braxton is in his 2nd year of tackle football. I promise to post some pictures of some of their games.

I love reading my sister-in-laws blog, because I always know what is going on in their lives. I love it!! However, I'm not so good at keeping this update. Partly because I don't have much free time and partly because I never really know what to say. So here are a few things. . . . . . we got a new dog. And yes to those of you who know me I've always said I would never get a small dog. Well, after we put our Akita to sleep in July after being hit by a car I was sure we would not get a dog for some time. However, our house was quiet....well not really (we still have 3 kids) but we missed having a dog around. A friend of mine contacted me and said she had a friend that had a friend that is looking for a home for his 9 month old Yorkie to give away for FREE...well, several days later Harley is safe in our home. He has made a nice addition and we all love him.

We've had a few visitors, Braxton's celebrated his birthday at FreeStyle Music Park, and now we are getting ready for Football. Braxton will be playing tackle and Cason will be playing flag football. Pictures for that are sure to come.

As baseball ends this weekend track is beginning.....well at least track for Myrtle Beach Track and Field Club. This is the first year for MBTFC and very exciting for our family.....Mike coaching and Braxton running. Mike has done a great job with getting kids to sign up....they now have over 125 kids signed up to run 1st-12th grade, for the first year!!!!

Braxton has decided he wants to High jump. With his height he should do pretty well. As it looks now he has a great opportunity to qualify for Junior Olympics. The state meet is here in MB, then the Regional meet is in Maryland and then the Junior Olympics this year is in North Carolina.

Free Style Music Park....SURPRISE!!!

Yesterday we had a FREE experience to Free Style Music Park. The kids had no idea and it was a total surprise for them. They are about to reopen which was once Hard Rock Park. Yesterday was friends and family day.....well one of our babysitters and now the person that works in the office with me gave us tickets to get into the park for FREE yesterday. Her mom works there and it was a day for friends and family to enjoy before the park actually opened. Mikalie surprised me because a year ago she would hardly let you push her on a swing.....she rode everything she was tall enough to ride. Some of the things almost made me sick. Funny story, Mikalie and Melissa got stuck on the top of a ride for about 15 minutes......Mikalie had so much fun she was ready to do it again. Cason and Braxton also had a blast and are ready to go back. It was a lot of fun to surprise them with something they have been wanting to do....for FREE. I love FREE!!!

I love May for a few reasons. First of all, 12 years ago on May 20 Mike and I married on the beach in Pensacola. Our lives have grown together over the last 12 years adding children to our lives. I can't imagine my life without Mike.

I also love May because it is baseball season. I'm not really crazy about Professional Baseball, but I love watching Braxton and now Cason and Mikalie are also playing T-Ball. I'll be sure to get some pics of them next week to post on here, but here are a few of Braxton.

It feels like summer is officially here. For the last several weekends we have spent our weekend afternoons out by the pool. All 3 of the kids love the pool, sun and just plain having fun by the pool. This is Mikalies first year to be out of her floaties when we are not in the pool with her...she is doing so good. Mike generally takes the kids to the pool several afternoons during the week....what a great way to get out some energy.

I want to be a servant and find it so hard to make the time to do the things we are called to do. Wanting to teach my children what Jesus teaches about taking care of the homeless and needy
I've searched for a place to take them and let them become involved. We've found The Shepperd's Table in Conway that serves dinner each night and uses volunteers to do the cooking, serving and cleaning.

We served dinner last night to about 85 people. Mike led a devotional and Braxton read a scripture before the meal. Braxton helped carry peoples drinks to their tables, cleaned the tables and refilled drinks. Cason helped me fill the tea glasses and then helped clear the tables. Mikalie handed out straws and ate cake! The experience was a great one for us all.

When I looked in some of the eyes of the people you could see the hurt in their eyes and it was a strong reminder of how fortunate we are. We all left feeling so blessed and we are all ready to go back. Which we will be going back the last week of April and taking 2 families with us to serve.

I thank God for teaching us to be servants!

Uncle Lantz and Aunt Jessica

We were blessed by the presence of my brother, Lantz and his wife, Jessica this last week. We had not seen them in about a year and a half and it was so good to spend quality time with them. We spent time at the beach, the boys golfed, we played Putt-Putt, Jessica and I shopped and we just hung out and had fun! We are so blessed to have such great family.

Our day at the beach.....it was very windy, but we enjoyed the sand, sun and fun!! Putt-Putt was fun....I think that Lantz won, but if Braxton was keeping score Braxton would have beat us all.

We arrived in San Antonio on Friday after a rather long plane ride....but it's free. Thanks Jimmy!

How much does wordly beauty affect you?

Starting a study of Esther, by Beth Moore, this was one of our questions this week. Initially, I thought not that much until I thought about the clothes I wear, the haircuts, the highlighting, the time spent tanning and should I continue on....... It was evident that the world has set a standard to what beauty is and unfortunately we can get so caught up in trying to become that beauty that we don't even realize we are doing it.

It was upon closing the study tonight that Beth mad a comment about teaching our children to become ladies that I thought....."Do I want Mikalie's memories of me to be that I had blonde hair and tan skin or do I want her to remember that I was a godly woman that spent a lot of time seeking to do God's will?" And that was enough to make me say wow!!!!!

It is scary bringing up a girl in today's society that is so beauty focused. I want Mikalie to always know that she is gorgeous because of God's love on her face!

Well, after waiting for many years! I finally made the step and bought a laptop....thank you to our tax return! My job now has me traveling quite a bit and so I'm very excited that this will keep me a little more connected and able to do somethings without going back into the office after a long day!

Holly after eating Enchilladas at our house on Saturday night! We enjoyed a nice Tex-Mex meal with Holly, Steve and the girls. It's been fun being neighbors with family!! Holly had knee surgery on Monday.....she's still in a little pain. Oh and I wish I would have gotten a picture of her and Steve....they are both on crutches as he broke his ankle a few weeks ago!

Thanks to my brother-in-law, Jimmy, who works for a airline. He has so graciously given us 5 tickets to fly home. We will be flying into San Antonio. Spend some time with Grandma, who Mikalie has not seen since she was 6 weeks old. From there we will go see Binky and Pop and stay there for a few nights. Then on our way to aunt Dee's which Papa and the rest of the family and the kids cousins will all be there.

We are all looking forward to the trip! Trips are sure easier now that we have no children in diapers! :o)

Painting the Living Room

I finished painting the Living Room last night at 1:00am. Yes, this only a rent house, the white walls were beginning to show way to many fingerprints. Now, don't get me wrong, I love all my little fingerprints but just chose to cover some of them up. We still have white walls in our halls and kitchen and believe me you can still see plenty of those cute little fingerprints. You hear that when the kids are grown that you'll do anything just to have a few fingerprints on your wall.....I'm sure I'll miss my "little ones" but I really think I'll enjoy clean walls! :)

Guess who won? At what...GOLF! Yes, Braxton beat his dad today for the first time ever at golf. Braxton was playing from the US Kids golf length and shot a 77 with one Eagle. Braxton was so proud of himself when he came in because of his Eagle. I just think that these are memories that they will both have forever. They are so lucky to have a dad that enjoys taking them to do things and spend time with them. Mike would much rather play golf with his son than anyone else. Cason is getting a daddy golf day on Friday. He is very excited....and yes if you are wondering Mikalie loves golf almost as much as her brothers. Once she is a little older and can handle playing 18 holes it will be time for me to start playing again and we'll have many memories of family golfing outings! Oh what fun!!

What is it about weekends that we look forward to? Is it not going to work? Not for me....I love my job. Is it sleeping in? Maybe at one point in my life, but 3 children arise early every Saturday morning in my house? What is it? For me it is spending Saturday's with Mike and the kids and spending Sunday at church and reminded of our purpose here on earth.

Our weekend....tonight we are grilling out steaks, watching Fireproof when the kids go to bed, Braxton's game tomorrow at noon, and then a CCU Basketball game on Saturday night. That is why I look forward to weekends! Some of our weekends are filled with activities and some are just spent at home doing nothing and I actually enjoy both!

As we began Dr. Willard Tate's class everyday while in college at ACU it started with writing a list of what we were Thankful for that day. So, here are the things I'm thankful for today:

A great husband
Wonderful children that played around the house today with a few friends
My nieces that I got to see today and give them a hug
A nice salad that we had for dinner
A church that our child plays basketball at on Saturdays
The opportunity to go to the grocery store and buy the food we want....even if sometimes it seems expensive we are so blessed to have this luxury.
The rain the we had today
Kissing my children today
Having the ability to exercise
A GOD THAT LOVES ME EVERY DAY AND SHOWS ME IN MANY WAYS HIS LOVE FOR ME! HIS MERCY, HIS GRACE AND HIS COMPASSION!

Do Your Best....Forget the Rest!

This was my first week of completing P90x. After getting a shot on Sunday and being on antibiotics all week it was all I could do, but I did it! Thanks to Lantz and Jessica for the introduction of P90X. The kids may have the best bodies on the beach this year.....they here these DVDs and they are right there working out with me. However, they don't last the whole workout....but they give it a try! This is Mikalie this Saturday morning as she was working out with me. She even has her paper that she writes down what she does after she does it, because you know that is what Tony says....write it down! This has been a great week and the videos have been very easy to stay motivated. With Mike getting up at 5am to go teach his bootcamp class it has helped me to have something to keep me motivated at 5am each morning! So, far my favorite workout......KenpoX, Yoga and Legs and Back....Ab Ripper is great too.

Snow in Myrtle Beach

Yes, we did see some snow flurries with a little ice this week! After spending last winter in Indiana it did not really compare to the cold we experienced there. In fact, this week Indiana hit a few 25 below zero...with the wind chill.......I think I like the snow flurries we experienced here in Myrtle Beach a little better. After have to be stuck in the house for a few days because of the cold, I'm not sure who was going more crazy the kids or me.
One evening when Mike was officiating a basketball game the kids and I ate sandwiches at home and then went to Chick-fil-A to play and have a cup of Ice Cream. Maybe a few months ago we would have eaten there also, but I think along with a lot of people we are really trying a little harder to watch our money better. Dave Ramsey, has some great advice on Living like no one else so you can LIVE like no one else!

We Have Family Coming!

Isn't it super exciting to know when you have family coming to your house? We are so excited and will be looking forward to a week long vistit of my FAVORITE Brother (oh..he is my only brother....but he would still be my favorite) and my FAVORITE Sister-in-Law with blonde hair (I have to mention her hair color because I do have more that one sister-in-law). She is super GREAT!

The kids love their Uncle Lantz and Aunt Jessica and to hear the scream in there voices today when I told them over the phone that their trip here was planned was amazing those sweet little sounds!

Well, we have months to plan, but you know me.....I already have a few. Camping for one night on the beach, playing a round of golf and just hanging out on the beach and at the house will be FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Our Saturdays

It only seems like a few years ago that we had babies crawling around on the floor. As of about 3 weeks ago our youngest no longer even wears pull-ups to bed...yeah...we are now saving that $10 a week for their college fund. :)

Our Saturdays are now filled with a morning of cartoons and then off to Braxton's Basketball game. These games are played at our church and each game begins with a devotion and a prayer. The games are fun, but it is awesome to watch our little boy develop and learn God's word.
